Kiev — the capital of our country, a very great and most ancient city on the banks of the Dnieper. From the "Tale of bygone years" I know the legend about the founding of Kiev by three brothers Kyi, Schek and Khoriv and their sister Lybid on the hill above the Dnieper river, now called old Kiev. The eldest of the brothers, Kyi, became a Prince of the tribe of the field and, according to the chronicler Nestor, was the first to reign in Kiev, approximately in the second half of V century. Conquered Kiev in 882, Oleg the wise, it tells the "Tale of bygone years", he said, "Let this city be the mother of Russian cities". That is probably all I knew about the city, which was going to spend an entire week.
On the first day of stay in Kiev, I am convinced that it is a city with developed industry, modern residential quarters, historical monuments amazing. Much left in it from the legendary city, which has impressed many foreign visitors with its power and splendor. You can spend hours wandering its streets, squares and admire. My aunt and uncle for a whole week introduced me to this remarkable city. Where I just visited: on Independence square, in Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the Botanical garden, Hydropark, at ENEA, and even ridden on a gondola. I admire St. Sophia Cathedral, founded by Yaroslav the Wise, walked through Mariinsky Park, where the residence of the President of Ukraine Mariyinsky Palace, and nearby is the Parliament building.
But most of all I liked the capital. A walk along this famous street, we went on a Sunday, this day was especially crowded. There I saw the show mimes, watched the contest, youth dance, saw the shooting of TV program "Karaoke on the Maidan".

It was July 16, 2008 and I was at City Hall to do something thatwould change my life forever. I went to Room 302 and got my workingcard. I thought I was independent and ready to get a job.First I filled in applications. I put in over 100 applications at restau-rants, clothing stores, and hotels. I kept looking for a job, and I decidedto go to the mall. I was interested in getting a place in one restaurantbecause my good school friend worked there, and he told me they neededpeople. I thought it might turn out to be successful. One day, when I came home and turned on the answering machine, there was a message on it. It was a job! A lady from a supermarket calledme for an interview on Tuesday. I was very excited. This was my first interview. On Sunday I got up early, my mom and I went shopping fora dress. I put on this dress on Tuesday. The lady asked me a lot of questi-ons, but I thought over the answers the day before.I didn’t get the job, but I found out that you can’t get a job easily. It’s very hard work.
