The National parks of Wales
There are three National parks in Wales, which cover one-fifth of the whole country. These parks are protected by law because of their natural beauty, but ordinary people still live and work here. The MOST FAMOUS of the parks is Snowdonia in the north-west. It COVERS 840 square miles (2,176 sq.km). It's Wales' most picturesque countryside. The mountain range in Wales is in this arca, with THE HIGHEST peaks over 3,000 (910 m). Many men, women and CHILDREN foot travel to the parks for special holidays. These include a large number of outdoor ACTIVITIES such as walking, climbing and riding, or water sports such as canoeing and fishing. People camp and live without all the usual comforts of home.
A wise judge
It happened many years ago in India. Somebody STOLE one hundred rupees from the house of one man. The man went to the judge, who called all the people living in the house and gave each a stick. they All the sticks were twenty centimetres long. The judge said, " These sticks are magic. Soon they WILL HELP me to find the man who took the money. Tomorrow his stick will grow five centimetres LONGER than it is today. When the thief came home he cut off one end of stick. Next morning the judge looked at the sticks and saw that one of the STICKS was five centimetres shorter. In this way he found the thief.
