1)В английском языке есть два артикля: определенный the и неопределенный a (an). Оба они произошли от знаменательных частей речи и частично сохранили в себе свое старое значение. Определенный артикль the произошел от указательного местоимения that, отсюда и его значение конкретности. Старое значение можно проследить в таких фразах, как: at the (that) time, of the (that) kind.Неопределенный артикль a произошел от числительного one, значение которого четко видно во фразах: not a word, a mile’s walk, a cup or two.Неопределенный артикль в английском языке имеет два варианта – a и an. Если существительное начинается с согласного звука, то используется форма a, если с гласного – форма an:a tree, a worker, a hero
an apple, an engineer, an hour

Dear Colin,Thanks for your letter. It was nice to hear your news. Actually,I have got some news ,too. Do you remember the old factory near my house? Well, the council is turning it into a park. They started months ago,now the work is almost finished. I'm really happy about it, because next to my house soon will stay an amazing park! I am proud of the people who decided from the old useless factory, which harm the environment, make a new ecological park. There are still a few things to do. People want to park quickly open, and we are helping the builders throw all the garbage. This work is really bonds us. I hope you can come and visit me soon,so we can play in the new park.I know you*ll really like it.Well, that*s all my news.Write back soon.
Best wishes,
James
