Олимпийские игры.
Первое упоминание об Олимпийских играх датируется 776 годом до н.э. в Греции. Самыми основными видами спорта изначально считались бег, прыжки, борьба, метание диска и метание копья. В соревнованиях принимали участие только мужчины, на состязаниях они были без одежды, чтобы она не сковывала движения.
Олимпийское движение.
Самая первая современная Олимпиада прошла в Афинах в 1896 году. С тех пор Олимпийские игры проводятся раз в четыре года с двумя исключениями по причине двух мировых войн. Проводятся Летние и Зимние Олимпийские Игры.
В настоящее время Олимпийское движение приобрело широкомасштабный и дорогостоящий характер. Зимние Олимпийские Игры - это состязания в различных видах спорта, проводимые каждые четыре года.
<span>Зимние Олимпийские Игры проводились на трех континентах, но они никогда не проходили в странах южного полушария. В США они прошли четыре раза, во Франции - три, а в Австрии, Канаде, Италии, Японии, Норвегии, Швейцарии - дважды.
</span>В 2014 году Сочи будет первым российским городом, в котором пройдет Зимняя Олимпиада. Наше правительство, Олимпийский Спорткомитет и сами спортсмены готовятся к этому событию с большим энтузиазмом. Спортсмены собираются завоевать как можно больше медалей. И мы, со своей стороны, тоже поддержим олимпийскую команду.
