На мой взгляд, здесь используется просто существительное-"молния" и никакого отношения к герундию, причастию или отглагольному сущ.отношения не имеет).
Сравни, окончание ing к слову light=lighting (без буквы n)-этот вариант можно рассматривать, как герундий и т.п. Также как, read-reading.
Слово light<u>n</u>+ing=light<u>n</u>ing-пер. молния.
