Dear James,
Thank you for your letter. I am
glad to hear that you visited a rock concert and had fun.
As for me, I don’t go to
concerts very often. My last visit to the concert hall was in summer. You ask
me to tell you about it. Well, my friend Dima told me that the famous actress and
singer Beyonce was going to visit Moscow, with
her concert programme ‘The Consent’ and we decided to get tickets beforehand. So we bought two tickets
and then enjoyed the concert. We also had fun and liked her performance very
much indeed.
I should add that I like
listening to music. It helps me to relax after some everyday problems at
school. Do you often listen to music?
Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Fyodor

Music in my life.
"Music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence", that what Wikipedia says. As far as we know (this is to say, as far as archeology can reach), music instruments were around people even in Palaeolithic era.
Music is an essential part of our life. It has great influence on us. It can form our mood, cheer us up or even make us cry. Listening to one of the masterpieces composed by a truly genius composer like Tchaikovsky or Mozart makes us follow the tunes, forget about the surroundings and brings us to the harmony of the spheres.
However, nowadays the value of music depreciates. Since 1970s, then recording and playback devices started gaining popularity thanks to constantly diminishing sizes accompanied by improvements of sound quality, listening to recorded music on the go has went a path from a fashion trend to a common habit. Today music is heard literally everywhere, in public places and private accommodations, it becomes a background noise rather than a source of pleasure an inspiration. It is interesting, by the way, that the border between music and noise is always culturally defined, and even within a single society, this border does not always pass through the same place. People seldom go to listen to a live music concerts now, they'd rather plug earbuds into their ears, having the music being delivered directly to their brain. It's a landmark of modern society - when people meet each other, they remove a headphone out of their ears to talk. It's almost impossible to strike up a conversation in a public place with a stranger without having him lowering the volume of his portable music player. I'm a part if his trend, too. I usually listen to my favourite songs on the way to and from school. When my favourite song is playing, I even change the way I walk!
To sum up, music was and still remains a very significant factor of our life. However, the way people were listening to music 50 years ago and now has underwent drastic changes. I believe, we will see more changes within the next decade.
My mum seldom drives a car
My dad always reads newspapers
I usually do my homework
My friends often come to see me
It often rains in spring in my place
I never listen to classical music
My parents never shout me
