Мой лучший друг был встречен мною перевести как в пассивный залог

Был встречен - уже пасивнвй или страдательный залог. Действие уже совершенно над другом. Есть же разница:
Я встретил друга (актив)
Друг был встречен мною (пассив)
Или надо на английский перевести?
