Kanysh Satpayev, KAZ. Anys Imentally Stebaev (31 March [12 April] 1899, the village Akalinskiy parish[1], Pavlodar uyezd, Russian Empire — January 31, 1964, Moscow) — Soviet academician, geologist, science organizer and public figure[2]. One of the founders of the Soviet metallogenic science, the founder of the Kazakh school of metallogeny[3] [4].
Doctor of geological and mineralogical Sciences (1942), Professor (1950), academician of the Kazakh SSR (1946), full member of the USSR Academy of Sciences (1946), first President of The Kazakh SSR Academy of Sciences[5]. He became known as a geologist who discovered the Ulutau-Dzhezkazgan copper Deposit, which was at that time the largest in projected reserves[6].
