Dear Ben,
You asked me to drop you a line about my city. Well, I think you'd better come to Moscow yourself! Moscow is the capital of Russia. It's an ancient historical city. Moscow is the fifth largest city in the world, its population is over 9 million people. It is a colourful and pulsating metropolis with innumerable places of interest and never-ending charm. Moscow is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The centre of Moscow is the Kremlin which was built on the bank of the Moskva River. A boat trip on this river will open to you such city’s beauties as the Novodevichy monastery, Gorky Park and the Kremlin. Among the historical monuments inside the Kremlin there are the Cannon Tsar and the Bell Tsar -(both are the largest in the world), made by Russian masters, the Armoury Chamber, the Archangel, the Assumption and the Annunciation Cathedrals. The Kremlin is a real masterpiece of architecture. Come and see!
In Red Square, near the Kremlin there is St Basil’s Cathedral – another masterpiece of architecture.
You can see a lot of other places of interest in Moscow, such as the Moscow University area and the observation platform from which you can see a panorama of Moscow and all the monumental buildings. Moscow metro is a unique masterpiece of its kind. There is no other city in the world where every metro station is a stunning work of art. Other places of interest that attract tourists are Arbat Street and the Exhibition area. There are also a lot of museums and art galleries in Moscow. The most famous and popular art museums are the Tretyakov Art Gallery and the Pushkin Fine Arts Museum. There are a lot of theatres and concert halls in Moscow. The most popular theatres are the world-famous Bolshoi Theatre, the Maly Theatre, the Puppet Theatre, the Chaikovsky Concert Hall and many others. The Sovremennik theatre is known to stage only plays written in the last several decades. The Lenkom theatre is famous for its rock-operas, a rather exotic genre on Russian stage.
Among the new sights that have appeared recently are the Monument on Poklonnaya Mount and the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in the centre of Moscow. One can never have enough of Moscow. It takes just one visit to Moscow to fall in love with the city. I invite you to my place. Do come in summer. Moscow is a magnificent city. I'm sure you’ll like the capital of our country and its hospitable people!
Welcome to Moscow! I'm looking forward to your coming. We'll have great time together. Write soon.
Best wishes,
Dima

When he had finished his lunch,he wasn't hungry.
When she got out of the swimming pool, she had swum (had been swimming)for 20 minutes.
After I had written the email,I sent it.
After I had played tennis,I had a shower.
After I had put on my pajamas,I went to bed.
After we had watched the film at the cinema,we caught the bus home.
