Они имеют глянцевые, красочные обложки и включают в себя индустрии красоты и моды, сплетни о звёздах, реальные жизненные истории, гороскопы, викторины и проблемные страницы. Конечно, мальчики обычно не могут найти эти журналы очень интересными! Вместо этого, они покупают журналы о музыке 'NME' или журналы о спорте, любят "Стрелять" и "Матч"
Обычно журналы для подростков содержат много сленга, что используют подростки! Они могут использовать звезду вместо знаменитостей, например, любимые вместо любимых. Они могут сказать 'ребята' вместо 'мальчики', 'дош' вместо 'деньги' или 'болтать' вместо 'говорить с твоими друзьями'. Это делает журнал очень привлекательным для подростков и более понятным. На более серьёзное внимание, однако, многие из журналов могут помочь подросткам решить их проблемы, когда они чувствуют себя не комфортно чтоб вести разговор с родителями о чём-нибудь. Вот почему эти страницы с проблемами очень популярны в этих журналах. В самом деле многие подростки покупают их из-за этих страниц с проблемами.
