My name is Lisa I'm 12 years old and I’d like to tell you about my favourite food and dishes. That will be mostly about fruit, as I like eating all kinds of fruits and fruit salads. English people say that an apple a day will keep the doctor away. I think it’s a wise saying, as apples contain lots of vitamins and minerals. My mum always buys apples for the whole family. However, my favourite fruit is orange and all other citrus fruits. I know that it’s not healthy for me to eat lots of them, as I’m somehow allergic to citrus, so I eat only some. Usually they have a strong aroma and acid taste. The taste can differ from bitter to tart and sweet. For example, if we take grapefruits, some of them can be sweeter than others and some can be bitter. It depends on its variety and colour. I don’t like grapefruits as much as oranges, but sometimes I eat them. My mum says they are full of vitamins. Other than that, I know that they work as a successful weight loss agent. Speaking about citrus fruit and their specific taste I should mention lemons and limes. These fruits are used in many dishes for flavoring. My mum uses lemon juice in many salads, while my dad uses limes in various cocktails. Apart from citruses, I also like coconuts. This tropical fruit grows mainly in hot countries, such as India, Sri Lanka, Brazil. It is then imported to other countries. I especially like the taste of the white nut inside it and I don’t drink the coconut milk. In conclusion, I’d like to say that all fruits are equally useful. That’s why they need to be in every person’s daily ration.
