Last Sunday Jo and Tom were skateboarding in a park. They were having a good time. After a while the two friends reached the top of the hill and looked at one another.
- The first to get down is buying ice-cream! - said Tom.
- Okay, but it's going to be you! - replied Jo and jumped on his skateboard.
Laughing, two friends raced each other. Suddenly Jo realized he was going too fast, the road at the bottom of the hill was curving to the left and the boy couldn't make the turn in time. With a loud splash Jo fell into the lake. He resurfaced looking rather confused.
- Oh my God, Jo, are you okay? - shouted Tom from the shore.
- Yes buddy, I'm fine, just a bit wet.
The lake wasn't deep and Jo stood up looking into the water. The sun was shining brightly and from the corner of his eye Jo saw a silver glimpse at the bottom of the lake. He dived to see what it could be and soon found a diamond bracelet.
With it in his hand and a skateboard in another Jo climbed out of the water where Tom has been waiting for him. On their way back home friends decided to be honest and to take the bracelet to the police station.
- But it's so pretty, my mom would probably like it a lot. - Said Tom.
- I bet she would, but it's not right. Someone is probably looking for it. - Jo looked at his friend.
- Yes, I know, just joking. - Smiled Tom.
The very next day the two boys took their find to the station. The policemen commended them for being honest and said they are to be rewarded. Jo and Tom received 50 euros as their reward and, happy, went to celebrate with some ice-cream.
