To begin
with, I`d like to say that English is used almost in all spheres of
international communication: business, politics, science, culture, medicine. Communication
is the string that holds the world together. English is a globally accepted universal
language.
Nevertheless,
I disagree that English is the only foreign language worth learning. I believe
that people should learn more languages, not only the English language. In general,
learning of different languages helps to enlarge people's scope.
Learning a
new language is not just about learning new words and pronunciations. Learning
a foreign language has multiple benefits. A person is able to understand the
culture, values, and moods of the people who speak that language. Languages are
not something that can be learned mechanically. It requires a deeper
understanding of each word and its root.
No doubt, learning
a new language is intimidating. But each language is worth learning.
