Присоединяемые притяжательные местоимения (my, your, his, her, our, their) используются только вместе существительным, а абсолютные (mine, yours, his, hers, ours, yours, theirs) заменяют существительные.
1. Is this your book? (Это ваша КНИГА?)
2. It's their door, not ours. (Это их ДВЕРЬ, а не наша.)
3. They're new pupils and I don't know their names. (Они новые ученики, и я не знаю их ИМЕН.)
4. My flat is bigger than hers, but hers is nicer. (Моя КВАРТИРА больше, чем у нее, но её лучше.)
