Maslenitsa is an Eastern Slavic religious and folk holiday, celebrated during the last week before Great Lent, that is, the eighth week before Eastern Orthodox Pascha (Easter). Maslenitsa corresponds to the Western Christian Carnival, except that Orthodox Lent begins on a Monday instead of a Wednesday, and the Orthodox date of Easter can differ greatly from the Western Christian date.

Dear Alena,
Thank you for your letter. Sorry, I haven't answered for so long, I was busy at school. Right now I'm at a table tennis gym, playing with my friend.
I am absolutely mad about table tennis. It a simple game of two rackets and one ball. You just need to score a point, making your opponent miss your pass or make a mistake. I practice each day: 2 days a week in a special table tennis gym and other days in free sports centers. After this much of praticing and tons of awards won in competitions I think that I can be considered as a CSM (candidate to sport masters).
Sorry, but I have to finish now, because I have an important exam tommorow. Besides, mum wants me to do the washing-up.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Love,
<your name>
