From the early days of cave painting, humankind has always created art. We have taken what we see (1) around us and used it to imagine scenes that we then drew on walls. Thousands of years later, we are still creating art, (2) because the walls are no longer solid rock - these days, they're virtual.
Create Noosa is the world's first virtual reality art competition for schools. Entrants design 3D artworks, 3D light-painting or virtual sculpting, using virtual reality equipment in a VR studio provided by the competition organisers. The equipment (3) allows you to paint in 3D brushstrokes. Unlike traditional art, VR art is not confined to the size of your canvas or the material you sculpt from - here, you can create worlds that only exist in your imagination.
Started in May 2017, this exciting event is open to high school students from Noosa, a town in Queensland, Australia. The idea for the competition (4) came from a local group of creative technology professionals. Their aim is to identify young talent and motivate students to develop their tech skills. It also helps students gain professional experience (5) which would look great on any future job application.
The promising young artists are (6) introduced to the VR tools through tutorials, in which instructors show them how to use the VR program. Then they head to the VR studio, where they start the creative process. They (7) work on their project at school and at home, building up ideas and sketches to help them create their final piece in the studio. When their studio time is over, the VR artworks are saved to a database and safely (8) locked up. Judged (9) by a panel of industry professionals, the competition offers a VR system for coming first and drawing tablets for two runners-up. Create Noosa is not only a unique opportunity for young artists to explore their creativity, it's (10) also a chance to see the possibilities of VR combined with the human imagination.
Традиционно территорию Лондона на английском языке делят на 4 основных части: Сити (the City), Вестминстер (Westminster), Вест-Энд (the West-End), Ист-Энд (the East-End).
Среди первых исторических памятников (historic buildings) выделяется крепость – Лондонский Тауэр (the Tower of London), сооруженная в 1087 году.
Этот исторический и очень важный район Лондона содержит на своей территории такие выдающиеся постройки, как Вестминстерское аббатство (Westminster Abbey) и Вестминстерский дворец (The Palace of Westminster), известный как Дом Парламента Великобритании (the Houses of Parliament). Вестминстерское Аббатство представляет собой уникальную готическую церковь (church), в которой короновались почти все короли и королевы Англии (to crown a king or queen).
The West End – часть Лондона , пышущая благополучием и роскошью (part of wealth and luxury). Здесь вы найдете театры и концертные залы (theatres and concert halls), музеи и галереи (museums and galleries), университеты и элитные магазины (universities and fashionable shopping centres).

Hello!
My name is Dasha. I am 10 years old. I really liked my summer holidays. The weather was good. My parents and I went to Egypt. We had a great time there. When we came back, we visited my grandparents. I was doing my homework, went for a walk, met with my friends and went to the seaside.
Now I really miss my teachers and classmates.
