Russia [ˈɹʌʃə] (help·info) (Russian: Россия, Rossiya), or[10] the Russian Federation (Russian: Российская Федерация? ·i, Rossiyskaya Federatsiya), is a transcontinental country extending over much of northern Eurasia. It is a semi-presidential republic comprising 83 federal subjects.
