So, the settlements differ primarily in their size. The area covered by the city is much more extensive. Accordingly, people live in it much more. The population density in the city is very high. After all, if the countryside is dominated by private houses with spacious plots, most of the residents live in apartments in high-rise buildings.
These tall apartment buildings and other buildings are located in the city on wide streets and avenues, where traffic is usually active. Thus the road is, as a rule, asphalted, while the roadways in the village are mostly unpaved, often in not very good condition. There are no sidewalks for passers-by, like in the city, in the villages.
The difference between the city and the village is the existence of certain life support facilities. For example, hospitals in the villages are not built. It's good if the clinic operates. First aid from the city can not be too soon. The school also does not exist in all villages, and it is difficult to get to the nearest because of interruptions with transport.
In the city there is no shortage of shops of all kinds. In the village, however, there is often a single shop, and in the smallest settlements there is no one - products and other goods are brought to residents on a certain schedule. In the cities there are hotels and restaurants, beauty salons and bars, administrative buildings and large offices. All this is absent in the villages.
In addition, the city has many places that allow you to spend interesting time. These are exhibitions, theaters, cultural centers, attractions, sports complexes. In the village, the main and sometimes the only entertainment institution is a small club with outdated equipment.
But despite the lack of many benefits of civilization, the village is the place where one can be closest to nature. Picturesque landscapes, calm atmosphere, clean air ... For this many people would like to have or have their own "house in the village". Plus environmentally friendly, taken from their own beds of products.
Here it is worth noting that the management of garden farming, as well as the cultivation of all kinds of living creatures and occupation by trades, is often a pressing need for village residents, as there are sometimes no jobs in a small village. In a city of opportunities to find a job and earn enough more. Urban salaries are higher, while the scope of activity is most often not related to agriculture. In the village people work in fields, farms, grain crops.
What is the difference between a city and a village, if you touch on the issue of providing residents with amenities? I must say that in this respect, the townspeople were luckier - many apartments are provided with the necessary communications (although it is necessary to pay for them a lot). In villages, not all houses have water or gas equipment.
It is worth mentioning one more important point. In a city it's easier to get lost among people. Even the nearest neighbors may not know anything about each other. In the village, it is not possible to hide from public opinion. There, each person is usually under the close attention of others.
