Many Alpine games are held throughout Scotland every year.Games are always held on the first Saturday of September. Many athletes come to Scotland every year to participate in the games.They compete in events such as hammer throw, shot put and running down the hill.There are also music and dance competitions. Marching bands perform in front of the crowd. The most popular event of the day is'tug of war'. "Throwing caber" is also popular. Tickets are always sold out a few months before the Games.
