Как определить<em>открытый</em>слог:
1) если слог заканчивается на гласную (напр., he, she, go);
2) если после ударной гласной стоит одна согласная буква (но не r !), а за ней гласная (напр., fine, lady, student)
Если после ударной гласной стоят две любые согласные буквы (даже r), то это <em>закрытый</em> слог, и гласная читается по-другому, не так как в отрытом.
