Ecology is the science of the future. And it builds on the principle that the value of the future is no less important than the value of the present. The term "ecology" originated in the study of biology. Its author was Professor at Jena University, Haeckel E. (1866). Ecology was originally seen as a part of biology that studies the interactions of living organisms, depending on the environment. Later in the West the concept of "ecosystem", and in the USSR- "the ecosystem" and "biogeocenosis" (submitted by academician V. N. Sukachev). These terms are almost identical. In all civilizations and among all peoples it has long been the view of the careful attitude to Nature. Some have more, others - less. But the fact that the land, rivers, forest and dwell in it the beasts is a fundamental value, it may be the main value, which has Nature, people realized a long time ago. For a long time the main practical tasks of ecology was limited to the protection of the environment. But in the 20th century this traditional thrift, which began to fade under the pressure of expanding industry, already was not enough. The degradation of Nature has become a threat to the society. This has led to the emergence of special environmental laws. Before mankind in all growth raises the problem of its survival on Earth. Called into question the future of our species. Humanity could face the same fate as the dinosaurs. The only difference was that the disappearance of the former rulers of the Earth was caused by external causes, and we can die from the inability to make reasonable use of their power. This is the problem and is the Central problem of modern science (though maybe not all yet realized).
