Cesare Lombroso, professor of psychiatry and anthropology at the

measurement of prison __ inmates__ to determine the characteristics of
__criminal
types__. Some of his ___
investigations___ allowed him to establish the existence
of “hereditary criminals”. Lombroso held that such criminals exhibit a
higher percentage of physical and mental anomalies than do noncriminals.
Among these anomalies, were various unusual skull sizes and asymmetries
of the facial bones.
Other scholars helped to introduce the ideas

sentence, fines, and parole would have been _unthinkable___.

Mike worked as (shop?) assistant during his summer vacation, and he
found a pretty girl named Jennifer on the store. He was shy at first but he
finally asked her out. He was very happy and excited about it. On the day of
their date, he was a bit late because of traffic jams. He had come home and
changed his clothes. When he was trying to take a bus, he noticed that he had
left his money at home! He went back home again, but his parents were out and
his house key was inside the house! He climbed the tree and got his money and then
ran to the bus station. Suddenly, a police car stopped near him and the
policemen tried to take him to the police station. He explained that he lived in
that house again and again. He was very late and Jennifer wasn’t there. She was
very angry. He phoned her over and over again, and then he wrote a letter that
said “Can we start anew? Please!” But she wasn’t angry any more. They had
dinner together. This book is very cute. I like love stories! They are really
fun to read.
The students were celebrating because they had pased their exams. Our boots were muddy because we had been playing football all morning. I didn't know they had been listening to me practising the guitar all afternoon. She was out of breath because she had run I didn't recognise Bill. He had dyed his hair orange! She was angry because I had not phoned her for over a week. He was worried because he had losed his passport. The sea was warm because the sun had been shining on it all day. Sue didn't come to the party because nobody had told her about it. They had not went out with each other very long before they got married.
This summer I visited few places. Almost all of the summer I was just sitting at home. Sometimes I go out for walks, rides ...
1 The guard told the driver to stop.
2 He suggested going for a walk.
3 She asked him to help her with that.
